Advice for Building Owners

At The Party Wall Guru we understand project timescales are important to stick too. A Building Owner is someone who carries out notifiable works under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.

Advice for Adjoining Owners

An Adjoining Owner affected by neighbouring works is someone to whom formal Party Wall Notices have been served on by the Building Owner (the party carrying out the works).


Party Wall Notices

There is a strict legal obligation for Building Owners intending to carry out notifiable works to serve written notice upon the relevant Adjoining Owners who may be affected by the work.

Schedule of Condition

A Schedule of Condition is a written report that details the condition of the relevant parts of the neighbouring property that may likely be affected by the notifiable works outlined within the Act.

Party Wall Awards

A Party Wall Agreement (also known as an Award) is a document produced by an Agreed Surveyor or two Party Wall Surveyors which resolve a dispute that is triggered when a Party Wall Notice is not consented to.
